The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has recognized Northeast Missouri’s Health Council for it’s National Diabetes Prevention Program, making them the first organization in the state to be certified.
A local health center is being recognized for their work with diabetic patients. The Northeast Missouri Health Council was granted full recognition by the Center for Disease Control for it's National Diabetes Prevention program. Out of the 13 health centers in Missouri that have such a program, the NEMO Health Council is the first one in the state of Missouri to be granted the recognition.
Now that students are back in school, it's even more important that their bodies are fueled with proper nutrients. KTVO spoke with dietitian Carrie Snyder and she gave us some healthy lunch options for kids. Snyder says parents should buy processed foods like chips and candies less frequently and instead focus on protein and fiber rich foods.
