Melissa Dimmitt was born and raised in Kirksville, Missouri. She and her husband, Joseph, have two children, Aiden, 15, and Rykar, 5. Dimmitt attended Truman State University and received a B.S. in Psychology and also has a master's degree from University of Missouri School of Social Work.

“We don’t have all the knowledge when we graduate so it’s important to keep educating yourself,” said Dimmitt about one of the most valuable lessons she has learned pursuing her degrees.

Dimmitt says the secret to living a joyful and fulfilling life is to take time for yourself doing things you enjoy as often as possible. One of her passions is advocating for children’s health and safety. When she’s not working, Dimmitt enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also loves collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia.
