MO HealthNet is Missouri’s Medicaid program. Medicaid covers basic medical and dental services and a variety of other services as well. People who are uninsured and cannot pay for healthcare may be eligible. At NMHC, you can meet one-on-one with a member of the NMHC team to determine your Medicaid eligibility and fill out the application.

How to Apply for Medicaid
You can apply for Medicaid online two ways. You can apply through the Missouri Department of Social Services or the Health Insurance Marketplace. NMHC can walk you through the application process.
1. Sit down with a NMHC Community Health Worker to see if you qualify for Medicaid and talk about next steps.
2. Have the information you need to apply ready:
• Your birth certificate or driver’s license
• Proof of income
• Proof of disability (if disabled)
• A piece of mail addressed to you at your address.
3. Complete and submit your application. You can submit a paper application or apply online. The state must respond to your application in 45 days. If you are disabled, the state will respond within 90 days.

How Does Medicaid Expansion Affect Me?
More people are now eligible for Medicaid. You may be one of them. In August 2020, Missouri voters approved Medicaid expansion.
Coverage will include up to age 64 with income levels less than 133% of the poverty level.

What does it cost for my child to participate in the Mobile Dental Program?If your child has Missouri care, United Healthcare Community Plan, Home State Health Plan, or Medicaid there is no cost or financial requirement to the parent or guardian. If a child is uninsured, NMHC staff will work with the parent/guardian to verify and/or apply for needed coverage.

Does a parent/guardian need to be present when my child is seen on the truck?It is not required for a parent /guardian to be present. NMHC arranges for all exams to be completed during school hours to alleviate common scheduling barriers associated with traditional doctor visits.
