Some of the most common services our family dentists provide include:
-
Regular cleanings and exams – 6-month exams are critical for patients of all ages because they help catch oral issues like tooth decay and gingivitis before they become more severe. These checkups also ensure that your child’s teeth are developing properly.
-
Fluoride treatments and dental sealants – Fluoride treatments and dental sealants are both great ways to prevent tooth decay, which is especially common in children.
-
Cavity checks and fillings – Tooth decay is a common, yet completely preventable, childhood disease. Most family dentists specialize in identifying and filling cavities and treating patients of all ages who are suffering from tooth decay.
-
Gum disease treatment – Family dentists typically offer services like periodontal maintenance and scaling and root planning to treat patients who are suffering from gum disease.
Mobile Services
Our Mobile Dental Unit visits schools across northeast Missouri. Our Mobile Dental Program partners with schools in Northeast Missouri. The goal is to provide dental services during normal school hours to students.
-
What does it cost for my child to participate in the Mobile Dental Program? If your child has Missouri care, United Healthcare Community Plan, Home State Health Plan, or Medicaid there is no cost or financial requirement to the parent or guardian. If a child is uninsured, NMHC staff will work with the parent/guardian to verify and/or apply for needed coverage.
-
Does a parent/guardian need to be present when my child is seen on the truck? It is not required for a parent /guardian to be present. NMHC arranges for all exams to be completed during school hours to alleviate common scheduling barriers associated with traditional doctor visits.
