Amanda Wilford, FNP-C

Amanda Wilford is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Northeast Family Health - Milan. With more than 27 years of nursing experience and over 15 years as a Nurse Practitioner, Amanda is passionate about providing compassionate, personalized care and building lasting relationships with the patients and families she serves.

Amanda began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1999 and earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from North Central Missouri College in Trenton in 2000. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri in 2002 and her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg in 2011. She has been part of Northeast Missouri Health Council since graduating with her master's degree in 2011, serving patients at Northeast Family Health in Milan.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Amanda gained extensive experience in emergency and critical care. She worked as a flight nurse with Air Evac, as a registered nurse in the emergency department in Cameron, Missouri, and also provided nursing care in labor and delivery at Liberty Hospital and in surgery in Cameron. She continues to work occasional shifts in small emergency departments in Iowa. Amanda has a special interest in women's health and hormone replacement therapy and is currently completing additional training toward certification in this area.

Amanda values the supportive, family-like environment at NMHC and is grateful for the relationships she has built with patients throughout the community. She enjoys providing care that is personalized to each patient's needs and appreciates the opportunity to serve the community she has been part of for more than a decade.

Outside of work, Amanda lives on a farm near Laredo, Missouri, with her husband, Brad, whom she married in 2000. They enjoy spending time with their two grown daughters and their families, including their grandchildren. Amanda also enjoys helping her husband on the farm, traveling, and scuba diving. Family travel is especially important to her, and they have made a tradition of taking an annual family trip together. When she's not traveling, Amanda enjoys listening to audiobooks, particularly murder mysteries with a little action mixed in.
