Brent Speak, DO

Dr. Brent Speak is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist at OB/GYN Specialty Group and serves as the Director of Educational & Strategic Partnerships for Northeast Missouri Health Council. A Kirksville native, Dr. Speak has been practicing OB/GYN in his hometown since 2009 and is proud to provide care to the community that has always been home.

Dr. Speak previously served as NMHC’s Medical Director from 2012 through 2026, playing a vital leadership role in advancing clinical excellence, community trust, and the organization’s mission. During this time, he contributed to clinical protocol development, provider credentialing, and organizational policy while maintaining an active practice caring for obstetric patients. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and has also served in key hospital leadership roles, including Vice-Chief of Staff and Chair of the Perinatal Department at Northeast Regional Medical Center. He has held academic appointments with A.T. Still University.

In his role as Director of Educational & Strategic Partnerships, Dr. Speak focuses on cultivating and strengthening partnerships that advance rural healthcare delivery and improve access to quality care throughout the region. His work includes collaborating with hospital systems, public health organizations, academic institutions, policymakers, and community stakeholders to expand access, improve outcomes, and develop innovative care models tailored to the unique needs of rural communities.

Dr. Speak is passionate about serving the community he calls home and values the opportunity to care for patients regardless of their ability to pay. He is proud to work alongside colleagues who have become like family and remains committed to strengthening healthcare for patients and families throughout Northeast Missouri.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Speak enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, and their three children, Kate, Xavier, and Alex. He also enjoys reading and cooking.
