Regular mammograms are one of the most effective tools for detecting breast cancer early, often before symptoms appear. Early detection gives patients more treatment options and can significantly improve outcomes. That's why we're excited to welcome MU Health Care's Mobile Mammography Unit to Kirksville this September, making high-quality breast cancer screenings more convenient than ever.
Patient Requirements
To ensure you're eligible for a screening mammogram on the mobile unit, please review the following requirements:
Screening mammograms are not available for patients under age 30.
Patients ages 30–39 should contact their insurance provider to determine whether pre-authorization is required.
You should not have any current breast problems or symptoms. If you do, please contact your healthcare provider for further evaluation.
Patients with breast implants are welcome. Please request a 30-minute appointment when scheduling.
You must be independently ambulatory, able to climb stairs, and able to stand for the duration of the exam. Please note: the mobile unit is not wheelchair accessible.
It must have been at least one year since your last mammogram.
Do not wear deodorant, lotions, or powders on the day of your appointment.
Bring your insurance card and a photo ID.
Be prepared to provide the location and date of your last mammogram.
Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time.

Full name
Date of birth
Address
Phone number
Insurance Member ID and Group Number
Social Security number (optional, but helpful)
